Day 1

Scripture to Read: Psalm 8:1

HAPPY NEW YEAR! We start a new year today, and there’s no doubt that our Lord has His works for us to accomplish this year (Ephesians 2:10). We must start this year with an attitude of awe and wonder at our Great God! When we consider that God is our loving Father, Creator, Friend, Lord, Master, Savior, and so much more, it is humbling to think that He chooses to use us to carry out His perfect will. Because He is God, He alone is worthy of our daily worship. As God led the Psalmist to write, we read in Psalm 8:1, “O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth, Who have displayed Your splendor above the heavens!” Our Lord’s Name alone is majestic (exalted, magnificent, grand, glorious), and we must proclaim His Name to everyone. Remember what God's Word tells us in Philippians 2:9–11, “…God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” It is His Name that people will confess! It is His Name that will bring people to their knees! If we’re not careful, we’ll speak our Lord’s Name and not even realize the power, majesty, and glory of His Name. For His Name is above every name (Ephesians 1:20–21), so worship Him every day this New Year!

Challenge & Application

· What do you think about when you consider how majestic God’s Name is and the power in His Name? · How do you speak our Lord’s Name each day so He can change others like He has changed you?

Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!

God has displayed His splendor above all the heavens (Psalm 8:1, “…Who have displayed Your splendor above the heavens!”). His glory is so big that it’s beyond and above all that He has created. God is so much more glorious and excellent than all of His creation, and we know how magnificent His creation is. We have the incredible privilege to ...

God loves to display His glory, honor, and praise in the most unique ways. We read in Psalm 8:2, “From the mouth of infants and nursing babes You have established strength…” God uses children to declare His wonder and glory. When our Lord Jesus Christ walked the earth, we find this recorded in Matthew 21:14–16, “And the blind and the lame cam...

Day 5

God’s creation is truly glorious because it shouts God’s creativity, wonder, and awe! God had David write this in Psalm 8:3–5, “When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained; 4 What is man that You take thought of him, and the son of man that You care for him? 5 Yet You have made him a...

Day 6

When God got ready to create Adam and Eve, God said this about them in Genesis 1:26, 28, “…and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 28 God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill ...

Day 7

Just as Psalm 8 started with praise and adoration to our Great God and King, God led David to end Psalm 8 the same way. We need to learn to practice our praise of our Lord each day. We have so much to praise our Lord for if we don’t do anything other than just praise Him for all of His awesome attributes. Some passages to use as we praise our...
