Day 1

Scripture to Read: Psalm 95:1–2

We will shout about a lot of things. We’ll shout when we get excited about our favorite team winning a game. We’ll shout when we get angry about something. We’ll find ourselves shouting when we are in a place with a lot of noise, and we try to project our voice over the noise. We’ll also sing for a lot of different reasons. We’ll sing along with our favorite songs. We’ll sing in the shower because we think we sound better there. God reminds us today that we must sing and shout for a much more important reason. God shares with us in Psalm 95:1–2, “O come, let us sing for joy to the Lord, let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. 2 Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.” Thankfully, God is never concerned about whether we can sing perfectly. Though some people have beautiful voices, others do not, but that is not what God is looking for in us. God desires us to simply come and sing for joy unto Him, for He deserves our praise and adoration through song. God also desires that we shout joyfully to Him, praising Him for Who He is and for all He has done. Singing and shouting to our Lord can sometimes go together, but it’s not to put on a show but to express to God how thankful we are to Him. A great way to shout joyfully to our Lord is through shouting the praises in His Word. Joyfully shout to Him today!

Day 2

God definitely deserves our voices to be lifted up in joyful shouting and singing to Him. God reminds us today in Psalm 95:3, “For the Lord is a great God and a great King above all gods.” We know God is great and wonderful and almost every Christian would agree that no one is greater or more wonderful than God our King. The problem for so ma...

God continues to open our eyes to why He alone is worthy of all of our praise, shouting, songs, words of adoration, and admiration! God reminds us in Psalm 95:4–5, “In whose hand are the depths of the earth, the peaks of the mountains are His also. 5 The sea is His, for it was He who made it, and His hands formed the dry land.” Consider that ...

Day 4

God led David to challenge us to see Him for Who He is as our God, Creator, and King and that He is above all. But since we are only examining a verse or two a day, we get to dive into each verse a little deeper. God’s Word says in Psalm 95:6, “Come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.” As we examine this vers...

Day 6

God challenges us today to be sure and listen closely to His voice. God tells us in Psalm 95:7b–9, “Today, if you would hear His voice, 8 Do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah, as in the day of Massah in the wilderness, 9 ‘When your fathers tested Me, they tried Me, though they had seen My work.’” God used David to remind us all that we mu...

Day 5

We belong to God because we are His children and we’ve been made in His image (Genesis 1:26)—it is important for us to understand what that means. God’s Word says in Psalm 95:7a, “For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand.” God is the Great Shepherd and cares for us as His sheep. Since we are His sheep,...

Day 7

There is no doubt that God is patient, kind, gracious, forbearing, forgiving, and the list goes on toward us as His creation. But there comes a point, and God alone knows, when someone hits this wall that someone’s heart has been so hardened toward Him that they are beyond repentance. It’s hard for us to even think about someone getting to th...
