Day 5

Scripture to Read: Romans 5

God always wants us to know the results of walking in obedience to Him. When we surrendered to Christ as Lord, our lives were made brand new. In Romans 5, God had Paul unfold for us God’s justification of our lives through our Lord Jesus Christ. As a reminder, justification can be broken down like this: (just as if I’d) never sinned. God the Father, through our Lord Jesus Christ, cleansed us completely of our past, present, and future sin (Colossians 1:13–14, Colossians 2:13–14). So, through Christ, we are at perfect peace with our Heavenly Father (Romans 5:1). Because we belong to our Creator, we should never fall into the trap of thinking that our life will be easy. God promises that we will face tests and trials in this life, but we are to rejoice in Him because of all we have in Him (Romans 5:3–5). God’s love should never be doubted, for He proved His love for everyone through our Lord Jesus Christ. So, God had Paul continue with His Good News as He had Paul share that as God’s children, we will never face His wrath (Romans 5:6–11). Though sin entered this world through Adam and death ruled because of sin, we see that life came through our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 5:12–21). Because Christ is life, justification is offered to all humanity, and with justification comes God’s righteousness. All of this is possible because of God’s amazing grace, which we never deserve, but it is another precious gift from Him.

Day 3

Sin destroys everyone because sin always results in death. God had Paul reveal, in Romans 3:1–20, the ugliness of sin and the awesomeness of God’s righteousness. God had Paul ask some ridiculous questions in Romans 3 because God knows the hearts of mankind and knows that all mankind will seek to rationalize their sin and think God to be too h...

Day 7

As we prepare for worship today, we close our week by reviewing Romans 7 and Romans 8. God had Paul remind us that His Law is perfect but that His Law alone cannot provide freedom from sin. God’s Law opens our eyes to the fact that we are sinners in need of God’s power to be set free from the power and penalty of sin. God’s Law is like a mirr...
