Day 2

Scripture to Read: Acts 2:43

Think about the last time you were in absolute awe of what God has done or is doing or what you know He will do in the future. Now, if it was challenging to come up with something, it’s not that God is not working miraculously every day; it’s because we miss His handiwork due to allowing ourselves to be distracted by the garbage the world offers us each day. We read in Acts 2:43, Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles. We must guard our hearts against everything the enemy uses (Ephesians 6:12) to distract us from what God is doing each day. The believers in the first church were in awe every day as God used the apostles to perform incredible miracles. Now, we might think that if we saw more miracles, we might be in awe every day too, but it’s not that God is not doing miracles—we miss the miracles that God does right before our eyes. For example, God is saving lost souls worldwide every day. We miss this miracle from God because we listen to secular reports from lost people who will never report how God is working in this world. God is sanctifying us every day through His Word (John 17:17, Ephesians 5:26), through the blood of Christ (Hebrews 9:11–14), and through His Spirit in us (1 Peter 1:2). His miraculous power fills us so we can share Christ. God deserves our “awe;” therefore, we must guard against spiritual blindness (John 12:37–43).

Challenge & Application

• What did God teach you about the miracles He is working in you and this world today? • How will you be more observant of God’s miraculous work in this world and your life each day?

Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!

Day 1

The last set of devotions was incredibly encouraging as we saw God use Peter and the other disciples who had been filled with His Holy Spirit to share Christ with all those in Jerusalem and see over 3,000 souls surrender to Christ as Lord. So, we’ll examine what the people did as the church of our Lord Jesus Christ began. We read in Acts 2:42...

Day 3

God drastically transforms every follower of Christ (John 3:3, Romans 6:4, 2 Corinthians 5:17) because He comes to live in every Christian through His Holy Spirit—sometimes the change is immediately evident to everyone and sometimes the change takes more time. It’s not that God does not do the same transformational work in each person; it’s t...

Day 4

Yesterday’s devotion focused on God’s transformational work in every believer's life. God continues to show us how the new Christians in the first church were growing. We read in Acts 2:46, Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sinceri...

Day 5

As God worked in the lives of all the new Christians, He continued to transform the lives of people around them. We read in Acts 2:47, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved. We know from Acts 2:46 that the new Christians shared their meals with great jo...

Day 6

God moves mightily within each and every Christian daily. God’s handiwork is evident in the Christians who choose to walk in obedience to Him. This means the Christians who willingly give in to their fleshly desires are grieving and quenching the Holy Spirit within them (Ephesians 4:30, 1 Thessalonians 5:19). What God reveals to us about the new...

Day 7

God had set on the hearts and souls of all the new Christians to share abundantly with one another what God had richly given to them. Not only did the new Christians share generously with each other, but God also tells us in Acts 4:33, And with great power the apostles were giving testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and abundant ...
