Day 5

Scripture to Read: Acts 2:24

We will only focus on one verse today because of the incredible message that God has given us in this verse. As God used Peter to preach to the people in Jerusalem, he continued in Acts 2:24, “But God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power.” God the Father through God the Holy Spirit raised our Lord Jesus Christ from the dead. God’s Word testifies of this miracle in an additional twenty-five verses in the New Testament alone (Matthew 28:6, Mark 16:6, Luke 24:6, Acts 2:32, Acts 3:15, Acts 3:26, Acts 4:10, Acts 5:30, Acts 10:40, Acts 13:30, Acts 13:33–34, Acts 13:37, Acts 17:31, Romans 4:24, Romans 6:4, Romans 8:11, Romans 10:9, 1 Corinthians 6:14, 1 Corinthians 15:15, 2 Corinthians 4:14, Galatians 1:1, Ephesians 1:20, Colossians 2:12, 1 Thessalonians 1:10, Hebrews 13:20, 1 Peter 1:21). Take the time to read each one of these verses as an incredible encouragement to the power, majesty, and glory of God’s handiwork in and through our Lord and Savior. The hope for every Christian is found in Christ’s resurrection. Christ defeating death reminds us that though our physical body will die one day, through Christ we have eternal life and will live forever with the God of all creation. Finally, don’t miss the incredible truth that it was “impossible” for death to hold our Lord.

Through His Holy Spirit, God gives every saved soul rest (Matthew 11:29). God does miraculous...

In yesterday’s devotion, we saw how God used Peter to refute those who thought the disciples were drunk at 9:00 AM. Peter told the people that he and the rest of the disciples of Christ were filled with God’s Holy Spirit. God used Peter to sh...

Then, the people asked Peter and the other apostl...
